Kate & Mark's Wedding Photography Story
Rockingham Castle, Market Harborough, Leicestershire
I wanted to share with you all a fantastic day I enjoyed last June, with Kate and Mark at their wedding at Rockingham Castle in Leicestershire.
It's always great when a couple come to me with a fabulous venue lined up, and that's exactly what Kate and Mark did, as I discovered at the pre-wedding venue visit.
Rockingham Castle makes for a truly beautiful wedding venue; set in acres of stunning grounds, not to mention its idyllic and tranquil wild garden, it really is a photographer's dream.
On the day we were lucky enough to be blessed with good weather. The rain held off and we enjoyed glimpses of sunshine as it fought its way through the clouds. The dramatic light fitted perfectly with the grandness of the occassion.
Kate looked like a true English rose as she arrived by horse and carriage to be met by her prince charming, Mark. As she glided down the aisle, Mark only had eyes for his bride.
After the intimate ceremony, I enthused Kate and Mark to spend some quiet time together and take some time out to take in the breathtaking castle and its grounds, documented gently by me from the background.
We were spoilt for choice with where to start. I followed Kate and Mark through the 400 year old 'Elephant Hedge' and then we descended into the peaceful wild garden. We paused for a few photographs on the footpath down and then for more underneath the stunning Handkerchief tree, which as luck should have it, was out in bloom for the only two weeks of the year.
It was lovely to see Kate and Mark so at ease and relaxed in front of the camera, which isn't always easy on your wedding day!
One of my personal highlights was going up 'Salvins Tower' to take the group photographs. The views were truly breathtaking and made the long walk up definitely worth it!
