Hayley and Dan's Wedding Photography Story

Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire

Hayley and Dan's story is your fairytale wedding, you know the one you dream of as a little girl; horse and carriage, handsome groom, gorgeous dress etc.

When we met up at my studio, Hayley couldn't wait to share with me all the ideas she had for her wedding. Eight months later, it was fantastic to see it all in fruition as I walked around the Church and venue, snapping away at all the little details Hayley had clearly worked so hard at creating. It was lovely for me to capture it all on camera so that her hard work wouldn't be forgotten in years to come.

The ceremony was very touching, with some lovely readings by close friends and family members.

As the sun bore down, Bertie, Hayley and Dan's little dog, joined us for group photos on the lawn outside the Church.

The venue where the wedding breakfast and evening reception were to be held was only a short stroll away. A beautiful river fronted country inn and hotel set the perfect backdrop as I waded into the river to take photos of Hayley and Dan on the bridge.

As the speeches gave way to the evening events, guests made full use of the selection of masks and props Hayley had left out. Hayley's Grandma showed great spirit as she got into the character of her Royal Highness the Queen! I got a great shot of her as guests clamoured for a photo.

It was after this wedding that Dan's brother, Tom, contacted me. He was getting married to Ellen the following year and had been so impressed with the pictures I took they wanted to book me as their wedding photographer straight away. It's always nice to get recommendations, especially when the people involved were all such good fun.

What a wonderful and varied collection of photographs. We can’t believe how many moments you managed to capture! Many of our guests commented on what a fabulous job they felt you did on the day. They really appreciated the fact that for most of the wedding they weren’t even aware that you were taking photos, allowing them to feel much more relaxed and for you to get some lovely, natural shots of all of them.
